A few simple habits make a real difference on test day. Read the guidance below carefully before you sit the Test of Understanding.
If you need an assistive device, notify your ISTO Partner at least two weeks in advance of the test.
The test clock continues to run during restroom breaks, and you cannot leave the building while the clock is running.
The test is Restricted-open-book, except for a clean copy of the relevant ISO standard. Minor distractions and temperature variations are possible. Earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones are available upon request.
Results are typically available within a week after the test, by email or by logging in to your account.
Delays of a few days are possible if candidate comments affect a pass or fail decision.
A 30% discount is available if you choose to re-take the test.
