The steps to take an ISTO Test of Understanding (free trial, mock or test) are as follows:

    Create an account on the ISTO portal. You will need to provide personal details such as your full legal name for the purpose of the certificate and/or analytics report to be issued.
  2. 2
    Choose test type (Free Trial Test, Mock Test or Test) on the side menu.
    • If a Test is selected, choose whether to take the Test online or at a physical location of an ISTO partner, and select the desired date and time. Please note the invigilation language of the test session run by the relevant partner.
    • Mock test can be taken anytime at the comfort of your home for practice.
    • Pay with debit/credit card or via PayPal.

    Confirmation email will be sent upon successful registration.

Important tips:

  • All ISTO Tests are conducted online with our Global Partners or Corporate Partners.

  • For all online or physical tests, check in for the Test 30 minutes prior to the start time at the confirmed location and date/time.

  • The Test must be taken within 180 days after the date of registration or the Candidate will forfeit all fees.

  • Test results are released within one week upon completion of the Test.

  • Candidates are required to accept the following during the test registration process. Candidate can have a preview of the text using the following links:

Rescheduling the test 

A candidate can reschedule a test to a maximum of two times. You can reschedule a Test up to one week prior to the Test start time. After that time, candidates must take their Test or forfeit all fees.

The Test must be taken within 180 days after the date of registration or the Candidate will forfeit all fees.

A candidate can login their own account on the Test Portal to reschedule at their convenience.

Re-taking a test

Candidates will be given their test results at the centre within one week after submitting their test(s). Candidates that are not successful may consider retaking the Test. Candidates will be offered a 30% discount if they retake the same Test. Candidates can simply login their account to register.
